A girl named Tatsuko was so beautiful that she prayed for eternal beauty and youth to God every day.
One day she heard a voice saying, "drink the water of the lake and your wish will be granted."
Tatsuko sipped the water and she felt uncontrollable thirst. As she was gulping the water, she was punished
for her arrogance by being transformed into a dragon and destined to live in the lake forever.
Based on the story in Tazawa Lake in Akita.
